Description |
Rhizome creeping, up to ll cm long and 5 mm in diameter; rhizome scales lanceolate in outline, base cordate-imbricate, margin entire, up to 6 x 1.2 mm, dark brown to black, papery, with latticed appearance. Fronds monomorphic, closely spaced, up to 14 cm long, erect to arching, coriaceous. Stipe up to 4.5 cm long and 2.5 mm in diameter, dark brown, grooved adaxially, closely set with clavate glands, sparsely to moderately set with dark brown, papery, narrowly lanceolate-caudate scales, up to 3.5 x 1 mm, base cordate-imbricate, margin entire or with few short outgrowths near the base. Lamina 1-pinnate-pinnatifid, lanceolate to ovate in outline, up to 9.5 x 5.4 cm; pinnae up to 8 pairs, short petiolate, basal pinnae more widely spaced and slightly reduced in size, distal pinnae sessile and adnate towards lamina apex, alternate, inaequilaterally lanceolate to rhomboid in outline, oblong towards apex, pinnatifid; segments broad, apex rounded, outer margin toothed, surface sparcely set glands and small scales near base or along veins; rhachis dark brown and green towards apex, grooved adaxially, closely set with capitate glands and few scales similar to, but smaller than those on stipe; venation evident, with short false veins. Sori linear, up to 6 mm long; indusium brown, linear, erose, glandular. |
